About Us

WHO ARE WE?

Nairobi Associates of the Deaf is a registered civil society advocating for the rights of Deaf persons in Kenya, particularly within the Nairobi metropolitan area. As the first registered association of the Deaf, established in 1970 and registered in 1975, NAD has greatly contributed to the Deaf movement, including the establishment of other Deaf associations within the country and advocating for a society that respects human dignity, social justice, and equal opportunities for individuals who are Deaf.

We EDUCATE, INFORM, EMPOWER, and ADVOCATE for the rights of the Deaf community in pursuit of independence, decent living, and full utilization of the untapped potential of the Deaf community.
